Ekale
gbogbo ile that mean pe, good evening everybody. The week is running really
fast ooo like I could not believe it yesterday when it became night mehn. The
birthday was so short and so, I have decided to have a birthday celebration for
a whole week since tomorrow is my daddy’s birthday. Please take out time to
wish him a happy birthday for me by leaving a comment, he would see it. So,
yesterday, I wrote about the effects of procrastination and I hope we are
following and that the post is actually relevant to one or two of us.
Today, I
would like to continue from where I stopped. In case you didn’t get to read
yesterday’s post, please check it out. Thank you. The effects of
procrastination were categorized into six and three of them were treated
yesterday; which leaves us with work, relationship and quality of life.
At some
point in the life of a procrastinator, such person tends to face issues at work
or in his/her career. Pre-occupation with that ‘thing’ that is being put off
can lead to reduced effectiveness in decision-making, reduced contribution to
team working, increased likelihood of mistakes, outbursts and burn-out. Procrastinators suffer when their careers
crash or when they otherwise fail to reach their potential. I wonder who would want to associate with someone
who would not be a value adding personality. And I’m sure you would agree with
me that it is going to be a dent in a person’s career journey and so we will
run away from procrastinating.
In
relationships, a procrastinator does not make good company because he/she
showcases constant nagging, blames people around him/her. One very important
effect that is inevitable is that at a point, procrastinators get really busy
as a result of the workload and so they get preoccupied that they isolate themselves,
becoming less aware of people around them and less loving. Procrastinating is
really bad ooo because at the end of the day, they become loners because people
will not just want to associate themselves with them.
When I
say quality of life, what exactly do I mean? It means the entirety of one’s
existence. You might be wondering; what has procrastination got to do with
this? Trust me; it has a whole lot to do with existence ooo. One’s time is
equivalent to one’s existence and so, whatever one does with time affects
existence. And so, for procrastinators, there is this sense of spiritual
emptiness, such people’s abilities to visualize a positive future is reduced,
sense of perspective is lost. Above all, for procrastinators, there is a
thought that life is gradually passing them by and that growth is being
stunted.
Above all, procrastination is a behavior that
leads to stress, because it makes plans and wishes fail at what should be the
point of fulfillment: Planes take off, deadlines pass and jobs go to other
applicants (the ones who got their resumes in on time).
It
is at the junction that I would like to drop my pen. I hope this helps someone
because I am gradually learning my lessons and I would not in any way want to
experience any of the effects of procrastination. The next thing that should be
running through our minds is how we can overcome this ‘thief’. This would be
coming up tomorrow. Please anticipate. Thank you.
Much Love,
KanyinWrites.
