WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?

Good evening wonderful readers of Rejuvenation. How was our day? Hope we had loads of fun like I did? I’m grateful to my creator for adding another year to my years today; I give him all the glory. I also want to us this opportunity to thank those who took out time to celebrate me, God bless you. People have asked me if I wasn’t going to post today cos it’s my birthday. Well, the topic for the week won’t let me because I have to lay a good examples for my readers : ). I hope we learnt one or two lessons from yesterday’s post? I did sha.
Today, I would be talking on the effects of procrastination. There are some things procrastination just does to one that will just have you make up your mind not to fall victim anymore. I’m sure they are things we already know and most times feel.
I will list these effects in their different categories as they affect each area of one’s life. They include: physical, mental, emotional, work/career, in relationships and quality of life.
Physically, a procrastinator feels the following afterwards: tension, high blood pressure, sleep difficulties, restlessness, headaches and body aches, increased use of stimulant. You might want to ask, why should procrastination cause these? Well, one thing you should know is, a procrastinator will keep procrastinating and by the time such person wants to stop, there would be more than what can be handled in a day. What do I mean? In a situation where you procrastinate a task for another, there would just be a day where you would get to do more than one task and by that time, you would get exhausted cos probably there is a deadline that has to be met.
Mentally, a procrastinator suffers from low self esteem, low self belief, and sense of thinking being “jammed”. Sounds funny yeah, but this is very true. Slowly, low self esteem just creeps in because one just finds that he/she shies away from tasks that might want to be awarded at work because of the fear of not being able to meet up with the deadline. The worst case scenario is when sense of thinking begins to get jammed. A procrastinator at a point will have so many things to think about and will just start forgetting things or mixing things up. Please don’t let it get to this.
Emotionally, frustrations comes in, sense of guilt, anxiety, fear, worry, anger, depression, helplessness and envy of others who get on with things, becomes the order of the day. Truth be told, these feelings are not funny especially when you see someone who is not up to your status or who does not know as much as you, getting rewarded. It just becomes so frustrating and then you just start blaming yourself. Procrastination is not just an option.
It is like this post is getting long jare plus, I need to get to partying jere (I cannot procrastinate that too so I don’t start feeling unhappy). So, let me stop here to continue tomorrow. I hope with these few points of mine, I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that procrastination is not just the thief of time but the thief of one’s entirety except it is stopped.
Much love,
KanyinWrites.
