Hello readers, hope we are doing just great? I hope we were
able to learn one or two things from yesterday’s post? I’m really excited
today, in fact, my joy knows no bounds. Apart from the fact that today is the
first day in the month of April, it is also my birthday month (yaaaaaayyyyy). Happy new month.
At
this time of the year, it is usually a culture for most people to evaluate how
they have spent the last three months and try to point out what they have done
right or wrong, what things they need to improve on or do away with, what
friends they need to keep or say goodbye to. For some, they can say they have
done so well and scored high; for them, it can only get even better. For others,
even though they put so much effort in making sure that they get things right,
it doesn’t just look like their best is good enough. They just feel at some
point that they have lost it and there is no remedy.
Yeah! This post is for you; yes I am talking about you. You who
have lost hope, depression has just eaten deep into your mind that you do not
see yourself leaving the position that you are presently. You have surrendered
to the misconception that “maybe this is God’s plan for me”, “maybe I’m just
naturally a slow person”, “maybe I can’t be healed”, “maybe I can’t get married”,
“maybe I’m not just meant to be rich”, “maybe I can’t find a job”, maybe this,
maybe that.
I came across this write-up written by someone who was faced
with the highest level of depression and I thought it would be nice to share it
with you, my friend. It really inspired me and I can only hope that it inspires
you too.
1 in 4 of us suffer with depression
That’s roughly 450 million people
450 million people going to sleep at night
Hoping that they don’t wake up in the morning
450 million people feeling like they have no one
That they are worthless
That they are no good
Useless, waste of space
That they hate themselves so bad
That they self harm or starve themselves
Sometimes even suicide.
So here’s to the people that feel alone
You’re not!
You may feel like it 3am when you’re crying on your bedroom
floor
But I am here for you
And even though there are 7 million others who don’t
understand
I do understand
And that right there is a big enough reason to keep fighting
Because you are strong enough
You probably don’t believe it
I never did
But I’m still here
I’m still struggling
But I’m still fighting
So you reading this is a proof that you can do this
Because I did and that means so you can
It’s not easy
And sometimes it feels easier to give up
But it’s not
Your life isn’t a chance, it is an opportunity
An opportunity to do great things
So don’t blow off that opportunity
Because you won’t get it back
So just remember
“Impossible” can
soon become “I’m possible”
There is a
popular saying that when there is life, there is hope. Please my friend, don’t
stop hoping. The best is yet to come and I must let you know that your worst
experience is actually someone’s best experience. Keep soaring friend.
Much love,
KanyinWrites
