Hello readers, how are we doing today? It’s the beginning of
a new week in a new month. Thank God for life. For the Christians, hope we
remembered the Sabbath to keep it Holy and for the Muslims, hope we also went
for ‘asalatu’? Last week, anxiety was the topic and I hope we were able to
learn a lesson or two. I hope we now understand that anxiety has nothing on us
and it is not a choice to be anxious.
It’s a new week, there are new expectations, new targets
have been set for the week, new goals have been set and it is only left for us
to see how well we can achieve these and make sure we do not have better
yesterdays. Trust me, distractions will surely come because the devil knows how
great an asset you are, he knows you have great potentials, he knows the best
is yet to come and he brings a whole lot of gimmicks. One out of them is what
people say is the thief of time.
Procrastination is not new to anyone of us, we hear it over
and over again and most of us try as much as possible not to fall victim but we
just still dance to its tune. Some do not even see it as a bad habit anymore;
it has become part of them and they just decide to live with it. This week, we
would together be trashing out what procrastination is, why we procrastinate,
the effects of procrastination and how to overcome procrastination.
I must confess that I am also a great victim of
procrastination; though I know it’s a bad habit. However, I am going through
the healing process of finally getting over it even though I still
procrastinate about washing the plates and my clothes sometimes or should I
say, most of the time (smiles).
I will like to share my little testimony about gradually
overcoming procrastination and this blog is just a product of that. I have been
longing to startup my blog for a very long time, which I did. I opened a
Facebook page and posted just twice; after that, I opened a blog on wordpress
and the same thing happened. It wasn’t like I didn’t have what to write, I just
kept procrastinating writing and I got so tired. But here I am today; even
though I’ve only just started, I have gone past two posts (yippie) and not just
that, I have a positive attitude towards it.
I would
really like that you follow this week’s post and as many as those that are just
like me, I believe God that before the end of the week, there would be a
significant change. Please anticipate! Because I myself I don’t know where the
banana will fall (only those who have seen the latest Dstv advert will grab my
dry joke). Thank you for believing in me. Stay blessed.
Much Love,

What an insightful piece. I'm looking forward to the ways to beat that thief. Thanks Kanyin.
